DIGITAL PRESENTATION SKILLS
Learning Outcomes
- Describe core elements of effective digital presentations and identify common challenges with static formats.
- Apply key visual design principles, including layout, colour use, storyboarding and visual consistency, to enhance slide impact.
- Demonstrate the use of interactive tools such as Padlet to engage an audience.
- Identify the potential of AI tools that can support presentation design and delivery recognising access and usage considerations.
- Use the ABC Learning Design method at a basic level to map out a short training or presentation plan
- Reflect on practical ways to incorporate these tools and techniques into their own presentations.

Module Content:
Module 1: Introduction to Digital Presentation Skills
- Definition and scope of digital presentations
- Common challenges with static presentations
Module 2: Design Theory & Layout Techniques
- Visual hierarchy and slide layout
- White space, colour psychology, and contrast
- Storyboarding a presentation flow
Module 3: Interactive Tools for Engagement
- Practical use of Padlet
- Demo of Vevox, Mentimeter
- Use of polls, Q&A, and word clouds
Module 4: AI-Enhanced Presentation Tools (High-Level Overview)
- Introduction to tools
- Considerations around access and application
Module 5: ABC Learning Design
- Quick Intro to ABC Principles
- Quick-mapping a training session or presentation using ABC cards
Module 6: Application & Wrap-Up
- Peer discussion – Key Points
- Key takeaways and resources
- Q&A and next steps
Course Requirements
Applicants must have access to a computer, stable WiFi, camera, speakers and microphone.
- Familiarity with Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs): While prior experience in using VLE platforms is not essential, it may be beneficial for intermediate learners. Beginners will receive guidance during the session.
- Basic Digital Skills: For intermediate and advanced levels, participants should be comfortable with general digital tasks, though no advanced technical knowledge is required.
- Quiet and Suitable Environment: Participants are encouraged to join the session from a quiet, undisturbed location to ensure full focus and engagement.
This course will be delivered in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), providing an engaging and interactive experience with opportunities for real-time collaboration and participation.
