John Kilroy is the founder of the Digital Learning Institute (DLI), a global leader in digital learning education and certification. With over 15 years of experience as a digital learning specialist, John has a proven track record of supporting organisations in developing and implementing effective learning and development strategies across a wide range of sectors. In response to the rapid rise of generative AI, John has partnered with leading organizations, including Amazon, Accenture, Deloitte, and L’Oréal, to help them harness the potential of AI in their operations and upskill their teams for the future. He has also played a pivotal role in designing and launching the world’s first Professional Certificate in AI for Education, making advanced AI education accessible to learning professionals globally.
Celso Meira will also be joining John on the 13th November, he brings three decades of technology leadership experience, most recently serving as VP of Engineering for a US-based HR tech company headquartered in San Francisco, before pivoting to focus on artificial intelligence strategy and research. He is currently pursuing his
Doctorate in Business Administration with research centred on AI's impact on the workforce, and holds an MBA, which helps him bridge the technical and business sides of AI implementation. He lectures part-time on AI with Digital Learning Institute in Dublin, and works with senior leadership teams to help them make informed decisions about AI adoption and workforce transformation. His goal is to help organisations understand not just what AI can do, but how to implement it strategically while keeping human-centred business practices at the core.

Overview
Participants on this programme, delivered by Digital Learning Insitute founder John Kilroy along with Guest Facilitator , will receive a practical, hands-on introduction to Artificial Intelligence and generative AI tools, enabling them to confidently apply these tools in their daily professional tasks, while ensuring they are aware of key ethical, data, and compliance considerations. This certified course designed to make AI accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or technical background.

Who Should Attend
The course is tailored to meet the needs of a diverse audience. General professional staff from various roles within an organisation (EU-based), with basic technology proficiency but limited experience specifically with AI tools.
Course Content
Module 1 - Introduction to AI :
Fundamental concepts explained clearly.Real-world use cases of AI across various industries, highlighting practical applications (text generation, data analysis, image creation, etc.)
Overview of generative AI tools landscape (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Canva AI)
Hands-on introduction: Basic prompt writing practice
Module 2 - Practical Application of Generative AI Tools
Sharing session: Group discussion on experiences, challenges, and observations from the self-paced activity
Effective prompt engineering for enhanced productivity
Module 3 - Ethical, Legal, and Compliance Considerations
Key principles of responsible AI use (including fairness, transparency, accountability)
EU AI Act overview: Brief insights on current and upcoming regulations, GDPR and data privacy considerations in AI usage
Personal AI Action Plan
Upon completing the course, each participant will leave with a tailored Personal AI Action Plan designed to translate their learning into meaningful action. This plan will guide you through:
