Leading to the QQI Level 6 Training and Development Special
Purpose Award - 6N3326 (15 ECTS Credits)
Step confidently into the training room-virtual or in-person-with this practical, skills- based programme designed for new or aspiring trainers. Whether you're already delivering sessions or just starting out in L&D, this course equips you with the knowledge, techniques, and confidence to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
Led by experienced tutors, the programme blends theory with hands-on practice to help you
plan, deliver, and evaluate high-impact training.
Who is it for?
Suitable for L&D newcomers, in-house trainers, or anyone seeking formal training design credentials.
You will learn how to:
- Identify the characteristics of an effective trainer
- Identify and create the most appropriate classroom (and virtual classroom) learning environment
- Develop lesson plans, relevant learning aids and materials
- Explore issues of equality, diversity and inclusion
- Understand group dynamics in a learning environment
- Identify, explain and assess a range of learning evaluation models, techniques and approaches
- Identify types of learner assessments and their advantages and disadvantages including providing feedback
- Facilitate learning transter

Course Requirements
Applicants for the Professional Practice Certificate must:
- Applicants must be basically competent and comfortable participating in a virtual environment e.g. Zoom.
- Be at least 18 years of age by January 1st of the year of application;
- It is recommended that participants hold a Leaving Certificate/FETAC level 5 qualification or equivalent. If you have an underlying foundational working knowledge/experience/interest in L&D and/or training, this will be accepted.
All applicants whose first language is not English must have attained B2+ or the equivalent TOEFL score
Applicants must have access to a computer, stable WiFi, camera, speakers and microphone.
