About Skillnet Ireland

Skillnet Ireland is a business support agency of the Government of Ireland, with a mandate to advance the competitiveness, productivity and innovation of businesses operating in Ireland through enterprise-led workforce development.

Skillnet Ireland works on a system of joint investment: businesses access training by combining a Government grant with their own contribution – greatly reducing costs and other barriers.

All private sector businesses of any size, including sole traders, that are based in the Republic of Ireland are eligible to undertake part-funded upskilling with Skillnet Ireland.

About the Grant

The L&D Skillnet partners with businesses of all sizes to identify and support companies to develop the skills they need to succeed. We work closely with industry, creating grant-aided upskilling programmes which are responsive to business needs and designed to develop future-ready talent.

Our Skills Connect Programme

L&D Skillnet is now accepting applications for our Skills Connect Programme. Skills Connect will provide fully funded training and supports to workers who have been displaced, are not in employment or those in vulnerable roles or sectors in 2023.

A Learning & Development qualification enables experienced professionals from all fields to apply their experience in alternative settings.

The recently redesigned L&DI Trainer’s Skills Certificate (QQI Level 6 Award) is a strategic fit for aspiring entry level Learning and Development professionals. This programme is delivered online and funded through L&D Skillnet.
